Project to Aid Victim of 2008 Floods

After the floods of 2008 individuals from SOCC donated money that was used towards the purchase of a new mobile home for a couple in Stinesville. Just two weeks before moving into their new home the husband passed away. During CareFest09 SOCC volunteers planted trees and had a prayer of dedication for the home. A few more things need to be finished on the property so we have scheduled a work day for Saturday, May 1, from 8 - noon. We need skilled chainsaw operators as well as volunteers to pick up debris out doors. For details contact lbrown@socc.org or visit http://www.socci2u.blogspot.com/.

Work Day Results

Thanks to everyone who helped at the Templeton Work Day on Saturday, March 27. It was amazing to see the transformation of the grounds. The garden is ready for seeds, strawberries were rescued from the weeds, the dry creekbed was rebuilt, mulberry trees were removed, and waist high weeds were mowed. Shelby B. went above and beyond by digging out the drain that had filled with dirt.
