International Furniture Give-Away

The 7th Annual Furniture Give-Away for International Students will take place on Saturday, August 20th.
More than 1700 new international students from all over the world will be arriving in Bloomington soon. Many of them will be coming to the Furniture Give-Away. Your participation in this event is crucial to making it happen. This event would not be possible without the volunteers. We need more than 150 volunteers to make sure the event runs smoothly again. Drinks and lunch will be provided for all volunteers.

There are a variety of needs during the event. Please sign up to be a volunteer right away at www.iubism.org/fgavol.htm . Here are some of the needs:
* Donate your Furniture
* Pickup trucks & drivers
* Volunteers—for light duties & for moving furniture
* Donation of baked goods, hot dogs & buns
* Financial Donation

Moving Help Needed

We have a couple of opportunities to help people in need of having things moved in and/or hauled off.

1) Help unload a moving truck on Tuesday, August 16th from noon-2pm for a couple moving into the area for the first time. (They need help lifting and do not know anyone to call and ask for this type of help). Their apartment is in Forest Ridge (along 37 between 2nd and 3rd st). 2) This coming Wednesday, August 17th at 8:00AM we will finish a job clearing out a storage unit. The job was started last week and we hope to finish this week. We will meet at the Storage Express right across from the main IVY Tech Campus on Daniels Way. If you can help for a few hours or just a couple of hours please email me at kevinking722@gmail.com and let me know. This projects is for a disabled, single mom and she will really appreciate your help!
If you have a pickup truck, trailer or big van that is a plus but if you don't and just want to help that's great too!! See You There!

International Furniture Drive

Our annual Furniture Drive for international students is this Saturday (8/20/11).

Drop off furniture this week from 9:00am-5:00pm at the Gym. Enter the Gym through Door #12. If you have items but can not get them to the church it can be picked up by contacting Elan Rajamani at elan@ifmusa.org
or 325-9047 to schedule a time.

Furniture Drive Volunteers Needed.:. We need pickup trucks, drivers and able-bodied people to help move furniture Saturday at the Furniture Give-Away for internationalstudents.
